Three words to describe Jose: Caring, Happy, Social
Where you can find Jose: As an entrepreneur, Jose is busy assisting people and families acquire the right insurance plans for healthcare and mortgage protections.
One thing Jose can’t live without: God. Jose has gone through many challenges in life and if it wasn’t for God he would not be who the man he is today. God has taught Jose what true love really is.
We sat down with Jose to find out more about dating as a single parent, what he learned about himself during the video shoot and his favorite part of Dine & Dish.
Plenty of Fish: You are a father, tell me more about dating a single parent, do you have any advice for other single parents on the dating scene?
Jose: It is very challenging to date as a single parent because people are more apprehensive. They may be hesitant because they immediately think about drama with the other co-parent, being second to the child, or they don’t want to be a step-parent.
For many responsible and good parents, nothing could be further from the truth. Time management is key. My advice to single parents, is that you don’t have to actually state “your child comes first” in your profile, people know this, and lastly that you are confident knowing that anyone who is truly into you will be understanding and accepting of your circumstances.
POF: What are you currently looking for in a partner?
J: Of course initial attraction is important, however, I am also looking for someone who has emotional maturity and is mindful, has faith in a higher power, wants to workout, meditate, pray, cook, and travel together.
POF: Describe a perfect first date
J: A perfect first date for me would be a walk/picnic with an authentic conversation to see if we can establish a true connection.
POF: What’s the best thing about dating on Plenty of Fish?
J: The best thing about dating on Plenty of Fish is the app’s chemistry feature. I think the chemistry test and details offer great insight into who I’m most compatible with.
POF: What was your favorite part of shooting this video with Plenty of Fish?
J: My favorite part was the overall experience of being part of a video shoot. My ultimate goal is to go on the show Survivor, so I really wanted to experience what it’s like to be on camera and meeting different people who all have a similar goal. I was able to learn a lot about myself and hopefully help others in the process. Everyone was very nice and great to work with, I am truly grateful for the experience.
POF: What did you learn about yourself from the other Plenty of Fish members and hosts Ashley & Jared?
J: I learned that dating is challenging for everyone no matter what age or background. It takes time, patience, and a lot of faith that the person you are looking for is out there. The best advice I received is to add better pictures, and to spell check.
POF: What is YOUR best advice for singles using Plenty of Fish?
J: My best advice for singles using Plenty of Fish is to be as real and authentic as possible and add quality information and pictures of yourself to your dating profile, that make you different. Adding only selfies or using too many pictures with filters is not showing me the real you. Instead of the selfie pics/or filtered pics, have a good friend or family help you do a photo shoot using your phone or camera. Just Be You!
