Every day at PlentyOfFish, we receive multiple emails from happy couples who, once upon a time, met on our site. Each month on the blog, we will highlight some of our favorite love stories.
Today I would like to share the heartwarming story of Terri and Paul, who found true love later in life!
I started my own preschool 19 years ago and it consumed my life. When I reached the age of 40 I decided I wanted more – I was on the quest to find love.
I was on PlentyOfFish for a little over a year when I noticed Paul’s profile. I liked that he was a business owner like myself, so I quickly decided to message him. We spoke for a week before meeting face to face for lunch at a local pub we were both familiar with.
Paul rode up on his motorcycle…”Oh how fun!” I thought to myself. After our first exchanges, I immediately felt comfortable with him; he was warm, friendly and talked A LOT!
Paul told me he was recently divorced after 25 years and was talking about how he had plans to move to South Carolina. We had a lovely date but I never expected to see Paul again because of his plans to move out of state.
To my surprise. Paul asked me on a second date!
We met for dinner. Paul laughed at my stories which no other man had ever done before. He was kind and kept checking in to make sure I was comfortable. Paul liked my smile and that night we shared our first kiss.
Week two and on our 5th date, we went to a Blake Shelton concert. He held my hand, something nobody had ever done before, and I loved it. Later that night, Paul put his arms around me and I felt instant butterflies.
I was falling for this man.
A few nights later, after a motorcycle ride to the beach, I asked Paul when he was taking off to South Carolina, Paul answered, “I’m not going. You make me want to stay.” I was elated. This was the first time I had ever really felt loved by someone. I felt like we were teenagers and I adored the way he made me feel.
By the end of the week, Paul told me he loved me and I cried tears of joy! Two weeks later we were engaged and ten months after that, we got married on the beach in New Jersey.
We love each other more everyday and we have never been happier. This summer we are expecting a baby! Never in a million years did I ever think this would happen to me!
It is never too late for happily ever after.
