Love Island, the show that took the nation by storm and warmed the hearts of many Brits for six seasons straight, is out of sight this season, but not out of mind for over half (58%) of Brits who admit they’ll watch reruns of the show. Some feel a giant void however, with 79% saying it just doesn’t feel like summer without Love Island, and over a half (56%) admit to feeling lost without their daily dose.
To fill the void many Islander fans are feeling at this time, Plenty of Fish went down memory lane and polled UK members on the past six seasons of the show – highlighting the hottest pairings, cringiest moments and sayings we’ll never forget. Let’s go back in time shall we?

Most Memorable Moments
With over 243 episodes and 187 contestants since it first debut, Love Island has provided viewers with all the drama, from awkward walk outs to cringe-worthy challenges, but there is one particular scene that Brits still can’t shake off. The moment Amber was left single when she returned to the villa only to find Michael paired up with Joanna – how dare! This was voted the most unforgettable in Love Island history, according to over a fifth (23%) of viewers.
Love Island Lingo
Over the years, I think we can all agree the contestants’ quirky catchphrases have defined the new love language, with ‘I got a text’ (24%), ‘I’m loyal’ (17%) and ‘It is what it is’ (15%) still part of romantic discourse today.
With 36 hours* of airtime lat summer alone (excluding spin offs) it’s no surprise two-thirds (67%) of Brits have also admitted to mimicking the islanders by still using their phrases in day to day conversations, with nearly 1 in 5 (18%) having used them to try and get a date.
Even though there is no Love Island this summer, we hope this walk down memory lane of the past six seasons has brought you joy and filled a little bit of that void until the next time!
