Are you introverted or extroverted?
Whether you’re one or the other or a little bit of both, guess what? Your dating behaviors are all very similar and both the majority of extroverts (72%) and introverts (75%) have zero preference when it comes to dating either party, revealed a Plenty of Fish survey of over 2,000 U.S. single POF users.
Let’s dive a little deeper shall we…
Introverts Vs. Extroverts
48 percent of survey respondents identified themselves as introverted (they turn inward mentally, and sometimes avoid large groups of people, feeling more energized by time alone) and 43 percent of these singles say their introversion has no impact on their dating life! But the majority of introverts do wish they had a little bit more extroversion in them.
Conversation expert for Plenty of Fish, Celeste Headlee told Brit + Co
“Introverts tend to ask more questions and earnest curiosity about another person is very attractive. Introverts also tend to focus more easily, if you can get them out of their own heads, so they may be less likely to text and answer calls while on a date”
As for the 52 percent of singles who identified themselves as extroverts (they find energy in interactions with others), 42 percent think being extroverted impacts their dating life positively and only 26 percent wish they had more introverted qualities.
Introverts & Extroverts Unite Over These Common Trends
- Take the Lead: 81 percent of introverts and 77 percent of extroverts prefer someone who will lead the conversation and ask questions over someone who listens and follows other’s leads.
- Food & Convo For Two: Over 80 percent of respondents chose a first date activity where they could have a better opportunity to chat with their date. Dinner isthe most popular first date choice for both introvert and extroverts, beating out choices like grabbing a drink, checking out the latest flick, and doing a fun activity like hiking by double digits.
- The Sweet Spot: 75 percent of introverts and 74 percent of extroverts admit to thinking about sex at least once a day, and both parties think having sex three to four times a week with a partner is the sweet spot!
- No Preference Here: At the end of the day, 75 percent of introverts and 72 percent of extroverts have no preference when it comes to dating either party, as the lines between the two become more and more blurred.
