Meet Sean!
Username: Shaun_o_saurus_rex
Relationship Status: Single
Three words to describe Sean: Quick-witted, Bubbly, Saucy
Where you can find Sean: Sean’s morning starts with a cup of coffee and watching ESPN. As a full time Social Work grad student, Sean’s week is filled with school and his internship so when he does get free time he makes it count! A flight to Vegas or a weekend getaway may be on the cards any given weekend. Being a Dodgers fan, Sean’s favorite way to relax is watching baseball and enjoying his friends company at Sunday bbq’s.
One thing Sean can’t live without: Music! Commuting over an hour each way Monday through Friday and blasting music with his own version of Carpool Karaoke keeps him sane in the LA traffic.
We sat down with Sean to discuss his perfect first date, how he acquired such awesome dance moves, and what he loves most about dating on Plenty of Fish and filming Dine & Dish with newlyweds Ashley and Jared.
Plenty of Fish: Sean, you have some awesome dance moves! Where did you learn how to dance and when did you start dancing?
Sean: I’ve always loved music and dancing. My dad says I would dance in my crib as a baby every time he played anything Motown in the house. When I was 10 years old we had a family friend stay with us and he introduced me to hip hop. Growing up, my friends and I would watch music videos and try to replicate their dancing. When we got old enough to go to parties, we took it as an opportunity to dance and show off our moves. You will DEFINITELY find me on the dance floor at any bar or club that I’m out at.
POF: Tell us Sean, what is your perfect first date?
S: To me, a first date is completely dependent on who I’m with. I see the first date as an opportunity to personalize and let them know I’ve paid attention to what I’ve learned through our conversations. If someone has Netflix comedies as an interest of their dating profile, then I’ll see about going to a comedy show as a first date. Or if someone mentions that they’re, “getting into whiskey” I’ll arrange a date where we go to a whiskey bar and have flight of different kinds. I feel like the personal touch to a first date goes a long way.
POF: When you’re on Plenty of Fish, what are you most looking for in an ideal match?
S: The first thing I look for in a relationship is someone that I can have fun and be silly with. I appreciate authenticity and someone that doesn’t take themselves too seriously. If I can’t send you silly-faced photos and funny snaps without being judged, then it’s probably not going to work out. I am also attracted to intelligence and I don’t see someone’s education level as the sole factor of intelligence. The way to MY heart is definitely deep conversations and witty word play. Even though I LOVE to dance, I don’t need my partner to be Beyonce’s back-up dancer, I’m content with a two step so long as we’re out together having fun.
POF: What’s your favorite part of dating on Plenty of Fish?
S: The best thing about dating on Plenty of Fish is reading the profiles. If someone has a ‘punny’ username, a witty tagline, or a silly photo, it definitely sparks my interest!
POF: What did you love most about staring in Dine & Dish?
S: Without a doubt, my favorite part of shooting the Plenty of Fish video was the people! From the crew, hosts (Ashley & Jared were #couplegoals), and my fellow participants, the shoot was a blast! Alyssa, Shari, Jose and I have legitimately become friends and I can’t wait to see what other adventures we get into!
POF: What was your biggest takeaway from participating in Dine & Dish? Did you learn anything about yourself after reviewing your Plenty of Fish profile with the others?
S: The video shoot made me realize that I wasn’t representing myself accurately in my profile. I didn’t realize that I had been drinking or smoking in just about every profile picture I have and my conversation starters were pretty weak. The best advice I received was to express more of myself in my profile. I’m FUN not an alcoholic lol.
POF: Having gone through this whole experience, and knowing what you know now what is YOUR best advice for singles using Plenty of Fish?
S: My best advice for singles on POF is to BE YOURSELF! Online dating is already full of people that, have face filters or fake-flex like their something their not. Cut the bullshit, so that you can save yourself and your potential dates the headache. Plus, you can easily miss out on the perfect person if you’re not being yourself on your profile.
