Before the first Autumn leaf falls to the ground, consumers are lined up at their nearest Starbucks, waiting to get their hands on the much anticipated PSL (aka, Pumpkin Spice Latte for those less familiar). This Fall fan favorite is often referred to, by society, as a drink for the most “basic” of people, but the latest data from Plenty of Fish reveals something very different. Pumpkin spice is anything but basic, in fact, it’s considered “trendy.”
Plenty of Fish polled 2,800 singles in the United States on everything pumpkin spice to understand just how much this craze impacts one’s dating life and reputation.
- Pumpkin spice is “trendy,” according to 34 percent of singles who used this word to describe someone who loves pumpkin spice, debunking society’s view of it being oh so “basic.” Also 45 percent of people are actually in love/like with pumpkin spice.
- “Pumpkin spice” may get you more dates Ladies may want to consider putting the words “pumpkin spice” in their online dating profiles because POF found, after diving into data, that women who mentioned “pumpkin spice” in their profile, are 8 percent more likely to get replies online, than those who don’t include the keywords.
- Single men want to go on PSL dates with you Single men won’t mind if their date has an infatuation with pumpkin spice, in fact, 34 percent of men said they would feel fabulous, if their date asked them to go grab PSLs together. Furthermore, only 6 percent of men said they would not date someone who is into pumpkin spice vs. 11 percent of women. We think women are looking to go for PSLs with their gal pals and not their bfs.
Pumpkin spice is only here for a limited time, so be sure to grab yours while you still can. Talk about a great conversation starter and the perfect Fall date idea!
