Today, Plenty of Fish announced the Blind Date game has been added to the Live! experience. For those of you who have not yet tried Plenty of Fish Live! we added this feature back in March to allow members to livestream and stay connected through video. Not sure how to use Live!? you can watch our helpful how-to video here and you can play Blind Date once you hop into Live!.

Blind Date is exactly what it sounds like – it gives members the opportunity to meet and date through a timed video chat that is based solely on personality rather than appearance. According to recent data from Plenty of Fish, 93% of singles want someone to fall in love with them for who they are, and not what they look like and furthermore 90% of online daters also feel that chemistry, not attractiveness, is more important to long-term relationship success.

So how does the Blind Date game work exactly?! Here’s everything you need to know about this new addition.

How to Play!

In order to play Blind Date, all you have to do is pop into Live! on the Plenty of Fish home screen of the app. Once you’re in Live!, select the third heading from the right called DATE. This will take you into NextDate and you can start to scroll through members who are currently playing Blind Date. This is indicated with a blue frame around their photo thumbnail that says Blind Date. Anyone with a highlight is a person who is actively playing the game and you can hop into their que to play too.

What does a Virtual Blind Date look like?

Think of it as a digital twist on a traditional “blind date” providing the streaming host the ability to hear the contestant, not see them, and as the timed virtual date progresses, the contestant’s video becomes less blurred. The contestant’s image is only revealed when the round approaches the end, or after the streaming host chooses to “date” them.

Do I have to play Blind Date if I’m in NextDate?

Nope, you can choose whether or not you want to play Blind Date. Blind Date can be toggled on and off in your NextDate settings

Is Blind Date free?

YES, anyone who goes into the Live! feature on Plenty of Fish can play the Blind Date game for free. We encourage you to use Blind Date to connect with other singles while still practicing social distancing rules and staying safe.

We would love to hear your feedback on Blind Date and what you love most about the game. Please comment below with any questions or feedback you have.
