You enjoy going on dates, but when it comes to planning the evening yourself, you draw a complete blank on what to do and where to go. What type of dates do singles want to go on these days? Lucky for you, we’ve got the answer.
Conversation Nation, the second annual study, released today by Plenty of Fish reveals the state of conversations in dating and explores all the ways different generations of singles connect through communication.
Plenty of Fish posed this question to 2,000 singles in the U.S., what is the best date activity to get to know someone?
Well, it turns out, 78 percent of singles prefer a date that nurtures quality conversation. Plan your next date night with the following in mind:
Dinner and conversation for two: Yes, the traditional sit down dinner is the number one most preferable date to get to know someone, identified by 34 percent of singles. A little face time across the table is the the best setting to engage in conversation. Through an interaction such as this one, singles are able to learn more about their date which will inevitably help you decide whether or not there will be date number two.
I like you a latte! Going for coffee is deemed the second best date activity to get to know someone, according to 32 percent of singles. When we dug further into the data, women actually prefer the quick and easy coffee date vs. men who prefer the sit down dinner. The coffee date provides a more casual, no pressure environment where you can keep it as short as sweet as you’d like or extend it to dinner or dessert, if all goes well.
Cheers to the first date: 12 percent of singles say going to the bar is a great first date to get to know someone, because it loosens things up a bit. A cocktail is always a fun way to kick off an evening with someone new but just make sure to stay within your limit. A great first impression goes a long way!
