Well folks, if you’ve stayed along for the ride with us through these must-know dating trends coined by the experts here at Plenty of Fish, you’re in for a treat because we’ve saved the best for last!

Following the release of her single, “thank u, next,” Ariana Grande is inspiring singles all over the world to participate in our latest and greatest dating trend: Grande-ing

Grande-ing (/grahn-day-ing/)

Personal celebration after a break-up, as recently made popular by Ariana Grande. Practicing gratefulness at the end of a relationship and rejecting negativity and bitterness as you move forward with your life

If you haven’t had the chance to listen to this great track, the song features lyrics about past exes, stating, “One taught me love, one taught me patience, and one taught me pain, now, I’m so amazing. I’ve loved and I’ve lost, but that’s not what I see. So, look what I got, look what you taught me.” Ari’s message seems to be resonating with us all, because 50% of surveyed singles are making a point to start Grande-ing, saying that feeling sorry for yourself after a break up is over in 2019!

So, how do you hop on this new trend too, you ask?

Here are five ways to say “thank u, next” to 2018 and Grande your way into the new year.

1) Celebrate what you’ve accomplished

You just made another trip around the sun! Take time to look back at the past year and celebrate your wins, no matter how large or small.

2) Appreciate what you’ve learned from your last relationship

Ari said it best when she said, “I’ve learned from the pain, I turned out amazing.”Everyone learns something about themselves through a relationship, and regardless of how it ended, there is always a positive take away. There’s a reason they say ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!’

3) Focus on the positive memories, not the negative ones

Just because your relationship is over doesn’t mean you have to focus on the break-up itself or simply forget about the time you spent together in order to move on. People get together for a reason, and even if it didn’t last, there were surely many happy moments that made your time together worth spending.

4) Catch up with friends, and rekindle friendships that may have taken a back seat during your relationship

Relationships can take up a lot of time, and it’s inevitable that friendships can be put on the back burner while you try to find your happily ever after. Think about all the extra time you now have to focus on strengthening your relationships with those around you.

5) Take time to do you!

If you’re truly Grande-ing, you’re taking time for yourself and doing what you want to do without worrying about what anyone else thinks. As RuPaul would say, “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?”

That’s it, my friends! You’re officially caught up on the newest must-know dating trends and are ready to take 2019 by storm.

We wish you luck, positivity, and to any negative vibes, we say…

We've all been there. You've received a message you could've done without or have been the main subject of someone else's opinion and criticism. Before you spiral down the tunnel of taking someone else's opinion as fact, ask yourself, "Would I go to this person for advice?" If the answer is HELL NO, then forget about it, their opinion doesn't matter anyways and you don't need to dedicate another moment to it. 💙 #justathought 202 15
"I just wanted to say thank you SO much! Plenty of Fish helped me to go from a single mom living in Southern California to happily engaged and living in Louisiana. We eventually got married and moved back to California where we currently live with our 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 1 cat. Plenty of Fish helped me find the love of my life and took me on the best adventure with my new best friend. It has been the best 6 years of my life!" 💙 - Mercedes 246 74
