Born between October 22nd and November 21st, Scorpios are known for their fierce independence, authenticity, and though they’re a water sign, they often get confused for fire due to their passionate (read: intense) personalities. So, how does this translate to their love life?
Plenty of Fish polled 1,300 members in the U.S. to reveal the relationship and dating habits of each astrological sign and we’re here to tell you everything you need to know about Scorpios!
Listening to the Stars
You’d better catch up on your star signs if you want to date a Scorpio. Nearly a quarter (24%) believe astrology plays an important role in who they decide to date! How does this come into play you ask? Well, 1 in 5 Scorpios factor in astrological sign compatibility when looking for their perfect match, and 1 in 8 have gone as far as to turn down a date because they didn’t think their signs would be a good match!
If you’re curious to know who Scorpios feel they won’t vibe with, one fifth believe they’re least compatible with Leo’s, and one fifth believe they’re actually least compatible with other Scorpios! Yikes!
Confidence is Key
Self-esteem doesn’t seem to be a problem for Scorpios, so if you’re looking for confidence in your SO you’re in the right place! Half of Scorpios consider themselves to be the sexiest of all the signs, and 46% believe they’re the most fun.
Shy doesn’t seem to be in the Scorpio vocabulary, as 66% will take the first step and send the first message. So, if a Scorpio is interested in you it’s you’re lucky day – you likely won’t have to wait long to hear from them!
Foolproof Icebreakers
If you’re looking for conversation starters to break the ice, look no further than classic TV shows and movie franchises! Over one quarter (29%) of Scorpios are into Law and Order and would love to reminisce about their favorite episodes, and 27% are fans of the Marvel universe.
Shows and movies not your thing? If you own an Android, 63% of Scorpios are right there with you, so feel free to bond over those green conversation bubbles. If you still need more to chat about, and you too believe Mcdonald’s has the best fast food fries of them all, almost 40% of Scorpios agree. There’s no better way to fall in love than through a mutual appreciation of french fries!
Not Here for Games
If you’re done with silly mind games when it comes to dating, go get yourself a Scorpio! Nearly 70% have proudly admitted to never ghosting someone, so no need to worry about your Scorpio match falling off the grid. Similar to Cancers, Scorpios are also as genuine as can be when it comes to their interests and hobbies, and only 15% have admitted to eclipsing a match (pretending to have the same interests and hobbies as their date).
If that wasn’t enough to sell you, almost one-half (47%) of Scorpios are out there looking for a serious relationship, so when it comes to dating they mean business! If you’re on the same page, it could just mean a match made in heaven.
Serious Dates Only, Please
While Scorpios are definitely not interested in emotional games, it seems they prefer their first dates to remain game-free as well, literally. Less than 10% opt for dates like outdoor hikes or comedy shows, and less than a quarter want dates featuring activities like mini-golf or bowling.
Just over one third (38%) of Scorpios prefer dinner and a movie as a first date, and just over a quarter (26%) prefer coffee or a drink – both no-nonsense options where they can have some solid face-to-face (or screen to screen while we’re virtual) conversation and get to know their match! If you do choose to opt for the drink option though, best to have a non-alcoholic alternative on deck as nearly one-quarter of Scorpios prefer not to drink alcohol.
Commitment to the Cause
TLDR? Scorpios are confident, committed, and looking for love! In fact, over one third (37%) would give up their beloved daily coffee if it meant they could find their perfect person. Better yet, out of all the signs, Scorpios actually spend the most time on Plenty of Fish every day! That’s what we like to call invested. Go get em!
