Last week we released our first five love lessons learned from our favorite tv twosomes. This week we’re back with 5 more, because we just can’t get enough of these couples!
Some people are worth waiting for – Jim and Pam from The Office
Jim and Pam may just be one of the cutest TV couples of all time, and no one wasn’t rooting for them to get together throughout the show. Even though Pam spent a considerable majority of the series engaged to another man, Jim never gave up and never passed up an opportunity to show her how much he cared. The pairs’ eventual union is a true testament to never settling for less than you deserve and being able to stay patient but persistent in your fight for love.
Love means not running away when thing’s get hard – Derek and Meredith from Grey’s Anatomy
Aside from being one of the steamiest couples we’ve seen, Meredith and McDreamy show us how hard it is to take care and support someone when your personal demons often get in the way. Their adorable post-it note marriage certificate reinforced the importance of commitment and partnership and taught fans that if two surgeons can make it work through all the stress and trauma they deal with regularly, then surely we can all stick it out through the hard times.
It’s okay to take time apart to find your way back to each other – Danny and Mindy from The Mindy Project
Like Jake and Amy, Mindy and Danny are true opposites, and despite their relationship thriving at first, it quickly turned rocky as they both began to resent each other for not always having the same priorities. The two go their separate ways, and both begin new relationships and adjust to their lives apart. By the series finale, Mindy and Danny have both made many huge life changes and eventually realize that the time they spent away from each other was exactly what they needed in order to end up back together.
Forgiveness and acceptance are keys to a successful relationship – Serena and Dan from Gossip Girl
Despite S and Lonely Boys’ mixed reviews as a couple, it’s pretty hard to deny that in the end, they were perfect for each other. The drama and lifestyle of the upper east side made them do some pretty crazy things, but acceptance and forgiveness brought them back down to earth. It was the way Dan was able to accept Serena for who she was, and Serena’s ability to forgive Dan after finding out he was the face behind the infamous cyber queen that allowed them to move forward and stay together for the long run.
You have to make each other a priority, no matter what – Randall and Beth from This is Us
In a show that is both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time, it’s easy to get emotionally invested in characters, but Beth and Randall take it to the next level. They go through countless earth-shattering moments both on their own and together yet somehow are always there for each other in the most perfect ways. There are a million lessons you could learn from these two, but if you take one thing away from their relationship, it’s that you have to show up when it counts, and boy do they ever.
