Our privacy policy just got a boost. Here’s what you need to know about the changes…
Your love life is your business. We respect the trust you’ve given us because, let’s face it, matters of the heart are private. As professionals in the field of building connections, we, at Plenty of Fish, know that transparency is key to any healthy relationship.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we’ve updated our privacy policy <https://www.pof.com/privacypolicy.aspx> for everyone to understand what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.
Here are a few highlights:
Improving clarity: Behind the scenes, the way we process your data to connect to potential matches remains the same and so will your experience. We’ve reorganized and clarified our Private Policy to make it even easier to understand what data we have about you, how we use it and how you can remain in control of your information. We’ve also added examples and details where we thought it would be helpful to better explain our practices.
Catering to our EU users: The upcoming General Data Protection Regulations (“GDPR”) places new obligations on companies offering services to people in the European Union. We’ve updated our Privacy Policy to address specific GDPR obligations, as well as our Terms of Use to specify that our EU users’ agreement is with our European Headquarters in Ireland.
We are global and uniform. Our updated policy addresses the new standards put in place by the GDPR, but we are rolling it out globally. All users deserve to have their data protected and understand how it’s being used.
We will continue to evaluate and enhance our policies in order to give you the best experience possible.
