There are many reasons why summer has received the title of being our favorite season: sun, beaches, and barbecues, to name a few. But what we don’t often give it credit for, is providing the frequent new opportunities for singles to meet that special someone. Whether it’s your next summer fling or that lasting long term relationship, take advantage of the longer days and maybe you will no longer be singing along to Sam Hunt’s “Single for the Summer.”
Here are just a few of the reasons why summer is great for singles:
Endless activities
Whether you’re an avid hiker or thoughtful bookworm, take advantage of the warm weather and get outside. Take that book to the park, buy those tickets to the next outdoor concert you wouldn’t usually go to or sign up for a new fitness group in your community. You never know who you might meet when you put yourself out there and try something outside of your regular routine. Summer is the best time to experiment and partake in a new activity!
No need for a nightclub
Now that we’ve shed the winter layers, there’s no reason we need to retreat indoors once that sun goes down. With night markets and beer gardens becoming the new local hotspots, what better way to meet someone in your area without lurking around the shadows of a nightclub. Meeting someone in daylight hours can remove unpleasant surprises later on.
You can eat as much ice cream as you want without anyone judging you.
New and exciting date ideas
If you have that special someone in mind or maybe just a crush at the office, summer is the perfect opportunity to get creative and plan the perfect date. A romantic picnic in the park, or an active afternoon throwing the Frisbee around, there is plenty of opportunity to think outside the box!
It’s time to embrace and flaunt your hard work
All that time and effort you’ve spent over the colder months hitting the gym are finally about to pay off. It’s a known fact that confidence is one of the most attractive qualities when looking for a partner. So head to the beach, feel good about yourself and own your singledom. You know it’s not going to last forever so why not embrace the time you have to yourself while you can.
Summer opens up plenty of opportunities to leave your comfort zone and try something new. Be brave, get out there and enjoy those rays before it’s time to whip out those fall sweaters again.
