Turns out, if you’re a little bit country and a little bit rock n roll, your chances of finding love on Plenty of Fish increase! The Plenty of Fish research team looked at over 9 million POF profiles that revealed the dating success of musically minded singles on the app.

Let’s take a look at the data shall we?

Country Music Fans

No achy breaky hearts here! Men who listed country music as an interest on their dating profile receive 32% more messages on POF and are the most likely to find their match (+65%). These cowboys are also 49% less likely to be looking for just a hookup. Now we finally know how Blake Shelton won the coveted title of People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2017.

Classic Rock Fans

Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones – Women who love the sounds of these bands, are most likely to find a match on POF (+68%). ROCK ON!

Metal Fans

The volume just got turned up on the love lives of stage-diving headbangers! Considered by pop culture to be one of the more aggressive music genres, turns out, women who listed metal music as an interest on their dating profile receive 9% more messages on POF.

Rap & Classical Fans

Even though these two genres are completely different from one another, fans of both rap and classical are looking for very similar relationships. Single women who listen to classical music are 93% more likely seeking marriage and single men who love the rap genre are 16% more likely to want a relationship.
